Last Day of 2008

It's amazing how time just flies, as if it has strapped itself with turbo boosters. Today marks the last day of year 2008. I'm sure a lot of people are looking back and tallying their achievements and failures over the year, while news agencies would be busy making a list of event highlights... etc.

On the global front, I think the most memorable events that just came into my mind would be the disastrous Wenzhou earthquake, the Beijing Olympics, the US elections, the sub prime and credit crunch...

Back home, off the mind we have the election tsunami on 8th March, the petrol price hike followed by descents, Bukit Antarabangsa landslide...

As for myself, some significant milestones include taking up diving (finally! after like 7 years of wanting to do so), and picking up some lessons on the art of self defense (another thing that I always wanted to learn). This year also marks the first time I've ever been to East Malaysia (Sipadan), as well as the east coast islands - Perhentian Kecil, Redang, Tioman. And I've finally committed myself to help out with tutoring for some underpriviledged children.

Well, not to say a fruitful 2008, but it's a good year nontheless. Looking forward to a better 2009, with more travels (hopefully) and more great dives :)

Happy New Year 2009 to all!
