Korean Food @ Woo Ga Chon

Yup, as mentioned in the previous post, I went with a friend to try out a newly opened Korean BBQ restaurant in Sunway Mentari. The name of this place is called Woo Ga Chon (whatever that means :P). The place is somewhere behind the Projet Station.

Front view of the place

As you can see at the entrance there's quite a number of flower baskets to congratulate the opening of the shop. When we stepped inside, we find the place having quite a good turnout (probably due to it's new too).

After settling down, we were handed the menus and served with some water and cold tea. The first few pages of the menu are all about BBQ meat choices, then followed by ala carte dishes. They didn't seem to have any dinner sets to choose from. Being a newbie with Korean food, we asked for recommendations from the waiter.

At this time, I realized that all the patrons are Koreans, and the staffs are all Koreans too. The staff that serves us had some trouble making recommendations to us, so we just browse through the menu and choose what sounds good. We asked the waiter how big are the dishes and from his description it seems like the portion should be ok for one person. In the end we settled with Jea Yuk Bok Eum and O Jing E Bok Eum (some octopus dish and some pork dish).

They started serving us with those side dishes that's famous in Korean restaurants. By the time the first dish came, we're already regretting because the portion is quite big. Should not have ordered 2 dishes just now. Then we hoped the second dish would not be as big, but not surprisingly, it's just as big. LOL.

As we're working our way over the food, the chef actually dropped by our table and gave us a dish of some kind of Korean pancake, FOC.

Aftermath :P

Forgotten to take pictures of the food, only managed to take a shot of the almost finished octopus dish (the only dish we managed to finish). Hahaha. We asked them to "tapau" the rest of the unfinished food so it don't go to waste.

After dinner they let us sample some Korean rice tea and brought us some fruits. My friend commented that the rice tea tastes like our chinese barley drink.

Finally, when we pay the bill, the boss said that for the first 2 weeks of opening, he's giving a 10% discount.

Overall, me and my friend liked the food. Service was good and the boss was very courteous. Only thing is that the waiter doesn't really know how to give good recommendations, but I guess that can be overlooked. I'd say this place is worth visiting.

Weekend Updates

Happening weekend. Too lazy to post so I'll just put things in summary. Hahaha :P

Friday meet up with my buddy for dinner. Went to try out this new Korean place called BBQ Woo Ga Chon in Sunway Mentari. Not bad, first time I'm trying Korean food. Maybe I'll blog more about it in another post.

Saturday my ex colleagues bought me buffet dinner (for my birthday) in Midvalley Cititel Cafe. So happens that the menu was BBQ, so most of the stuffs are BBQed, and there are quite a lot of meat. Service is so so, and they are quite slow on refills. After that we went "yum cha" in Hartamas.

*Looks at time* Wow, very late/early already... time to hit the sack. Ciao!

Personality

*Below are some stuffs I've learned from a recent training*

Heard of sanguine (not penguin), choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic? These are the four temperaments described by Hippocrates. Below are the characteristics of each, taken from Wikipedia (I'm lazy to type out my notes... :P )

Sanguine
A person who is sanguine is generally optimistic, cheerful, confident, popular, and fun-loving. He or she can be daydreamy to the point of not accomplishing anything and can be impulsive, possibly acting on whims in an unpredictable fashion. Sanguines usually have a lot of energy, but have a problem finding a way to direct the energy. This also describes the manic phase of a bipolar disorder.

Choleric
A person who is choleric is a doer and a leader. They have a lot of ambition, energy and drive, and try to instill it in others, and can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic, military and political figures were cholerics. On the negative side, they are easily angered or bad tempered.

Melancholic
A person who was a thoughtful ponderer had a melancholic disposition. Often very kind and considerate, melancholics can be highly creative - as in poets and artists - but also can become overly obsessed on the tragedy and cruelty in the world, thus becoming depressed. A melancholy is also often a perfectionist, being very particular about what they want and how they want it in some cases. This often results in being unsatisfied with one's own artistic or creative works, always pointing out to themselves what could and should be improved.

Phlegmatic
A phlegmatic person is calm and unemotional. While phlegmatics are generally self-content and kind, their shy personality can often inhibit enthusiasm in others and make themselves lazy and resistant to change. They are very consistent, relaxed, rational, curious, and observant, making them good administrators and diplomats. Like the sanguine personality, the phlegmatic has many friends. But the phlegmatic is more reliable and compassionate; these characteristics typically make the phlegmatic a more dependable friend.

Another 5 minutes..

and I'll be 1 year older... aww shucks, time just flies, don't they?

So many things to do, so little time... So much to think about, so little action done...

Feels like I've been slacking a wee bit too much. Maybe like some say, I'm worrying a bit too much.

Ah well... another lonely year for me I guess. Good night to all.

*Update*
Thanks to Winn Winn and all who commented in the post for their wishes. Also, thanks to those who SMSed me :)

Choices

*Sigh*...

Not that I want to complain, but sometimes having choices really puts you in a dilemma. Ok maybe not you, but definitely me in this case.

How I wish I have a mentor or maybe an oracle that I can ask for advice.

Another Week

Tomorrow is Friday again. This is another busy week for me. Lots of things to do at work. Time seems to be flying too fast. Hey time, wait for me~~~ :P

Recently me and a colleague was talking about playing tabletennis. My company have a couple of these tabletennis tables lying around. So last week I got myself a tabletennis set complete with netting and bat and balls. And we played a couple of games after work. Man it was really fun I tell you, although I'm quite rusty as I haven't been playing it since college days. Beats going to the gym and workout on those stupid machines... haha.

Anyone up for a game? :D

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday I played a PC game until 6am in the morning (Didn't realized that the time passes by so quickly :P). So I only managed to wake up at 12 noon. That's very rare for me as I usually wake up about 6:30am on weekdays and about 7-8am on weekends.

Sunday is a good day to stay home and be lazy. Hahaha...

I think Mini agrees too. :P

Sidenote: Took the pic with camera phone... looks ok on the phone screen, didn't realize it's quite blur until I uploaded into my PC. So sorry. :P

What about yourself?

"What about yourself?"

I'd really love to slap this phrase on someone's face. Some people just love to complain about other people but fail to realize that they're not any better.

Even though I'm not a Christian, I always believe in one of the biblical stories about "let the one without sin cast the first stone". That's why I don't really like to gossip or talk bad about other people.

Story goes like this:
My sales colleague, A is not so punctual about working hours. But you know, that's sales. And he's got some personal issues etc. but let's just leave it at that. Then there's this technical guy B, who is equally not punctual and always "snake" all the time. And he dare to complain about A being not punctual to work. That's just on working hours. Of course there are other things as well. But you get the drift.

Oh yeah and B is one of the office politic players + back stabbers as mentioned in the earlier post.

Sigh...

While you're out in the field meeting potential customers and solving problems, back in the office the boss is on amnesia mode and trying to find fault, colleagues are playing politics and talk behind your back... really feel damn sian...

Motivation

*This post is inspired by a conversation I had earlier with a friend*

I don't know about you guys, but I think some people would have times where they feel like not doing anything and just let the world revolves around them. It's like there's no motivation and they would just become a "reactor" and reacts only when things involve them. You get the picture.

I do have times when I feel that way too. In fact, once in a while it will come back to me. It's just that sometimes you'll feel burnt out, or sometimes you feel like things you do are meaningless, or sometimes there's no one to support what you do.

Usually when I'm in such situation, there's always the one and only thought that will put me back on track. Actually, make that 2 thoughts.

1) Life is short. In fact, VERY short. So make the best out of it.
2) Do whatever you can right now. Don't regret later on.

Well, this might not work for everyone, but it definitely works for me, everytime. (So far so good :P)

I hate the feeling of regret (Who likes it anyway?). Looking back, I think I've quite a few regrets, where I believe I could've done something that would've made a difference. So I will try not to allow myself to have regrets anymore.

Well, that's my 2 cents worth lah :P
