"What about yourself?"
I'd really love to slap this phrase on someone's face. Some people just love to complain about other people but fail to realize that they're not any better.
Even though I'm not a Christian, I always believe in one of the biblical stories about "let the one without sin cast the first stone". That's why I don't really like to gossip or talk bad about other people.
Story goes like this:
My sales colleague, A is not so punctual about working hours. But you know, that's sales. And he's got some personal issues etc. but let's just leave it at that. Then there's this technical guy B, who is equally not punctual and always "snake" all the time. And he dare to complain about A being not punctual to work. That's just on working hours. Of course there are other things as well. But you get the drift.
Oh yeah and B is one of the office politic players + back stabbers as mentioned in the earlier post.

last nite our cleaner told my manager tat im so bad tempered,simply scold n yell at ppl,not ngam with all staff n lucky tis company hired or else i cant find job anywhre...i heard tat i wana laugh so i told my manager seem lyk our cleaner need to look at mirror tat when she say tat here hired me coz i cant find job anywhre...
i got more than 3 offer of job lar weii!!!sohai cleaner!!!i scold u ppl coz u all so stupiak n repeated the mistake so i don care whether u r women,gangster o wat as u don respek wat i say u sure kena...macibeh mia cleaner coz of her few times i quarrel with customer n when u got prob u just run away n leave the shit to me,manager n assistant manager...
i din tok to her so much coz i noe she at front being so nice then back stab me...
tonite mayb wil b anader bz nite so u guys stil repeated the same thing...i sure wack those farking staff coz they now climb on top my head liao n tat wat i told my manager last nite after she told me wat our cleaner say...

There are office politics and there are office politics. If you see a future in the company you're working for, then you have to be into Politics as well.
Those who gets promoted fast and has a lot of support does not mean that they are hardworking and knows everything. In fact, its usually the opposite. That is why all Managers are assholes and idiots.
But if you really want to go up, then you have to do what is unbecome of you. You have to be ready to pull the trigger in front of a kid.
Then again, there is no better revenge than a 24 hours resignation with all the projects you're doing, being dropped. But make sure you volunteer for all these projects, become the main key person and password lock all your files. Ha ha ha ha
